Not only because of the different number of participants, group and individual lessons may have diverse contents. For more details please look at the information below.
A lesson usually starts with the students playing for me. As I observe their movements and listen to their sound, I gradually start to gain some influence on their muscle tone through hands-on guidance. Depending on the individual situation, exercises can vary significantly. Musicians with acute pain are treated with myofascial, manual and taping techniques first to enable them to regain flexibility (see “practice”). They later learn three-dimensional coordinative exercises to improve their functional capacity. The exercises can be done fully clothed, independently from age, gender and musical level and should be incorporated into the daily practice schedule.
In addition to verbal and tactile communication, video analysis is also used.
All exercises are based on functional anatomy, thus enhancing natural movement and preventing joint degeneration.
As the students learn to have an influence both on the quality of their movements and sound, they regain affinity with their bodies and self-confidence as musicians.
