Alexandra Tuerk-Espitalier is a licensed physical therapist and professional flutist. Her years as orchestral and freelance musician were accompanied by chronic pain that intensified after an accident. Physical therapy and movement reeducation helped her recover, thus prompting her decision to become a PT in order to be able to provide relief for other musicians.
Alexandra Tuerk-Espitalier holds a degree in physical therapy as well as one in education and performance. She received her extensive training in Germany and Switzerland, focusing on the musculoskeletal system and coordination. She owns a practice and teaches music physiology and prevention of musicians` injuries at the Musikhochschule in Frankfurt. Dividing her life between Europe and the US, she delivers lectures and workshops at Universities and Conservatories and coaches orchestras and soloists in both countries.
